Excluding Bats Colonies in Florida

Most bat problem in Florida are caused by maternal colonies of Mexican (also known as Brazilian) Free-Tailed Bats. This type of bat forms nests together in attics and buildings together in maternal colonies. These bat colonies once established can number from a few dozen to several hundred. Inside man made buildings, the bats droppings, or guano, create a large mess in the home and a potential health risk.

When a house has bats get in, the bats use small entry / exit points to fly out every sunset to feed for the night and then return at sunrise to sleep for the day.

The key to solve a bat problem is finding all the potential entry points and also the fact that bats will be confused if you disrupt these home weaknesses with bat netting.

Our Florida bat experts in Orlando, Miami, and Tampa remove bats through exclusion.  No bats are trapped, killed, or exterminated in our bat removal process.

The bats above have flown out the entry point are entangled in the exclusion net. The bats leave the attic, become ensnared, quickly free themselves, and then fly off for the night.. Most bats will leave the first night, after the 5th night, all the bats will be removed.

  • If you suspect that you have been touched by a Florida bat,  don't let the bat get out of your house!
  • The bat needs to be trapped with bat control techniques and then and then tested for rabies.
  • Don’t use a baseball bat or other swinging device to hit it! If you are too frightened to gently secure the bat yourself, call Florida bat control to take care of the bat problem.  If  your pet has possibly been bitten by a bat don’t handle your pet without wearing proper hand protection. The rabies virus is carried in the saliva and nerve tissue of the victim. If your dog has bitten the bat or was bitten how can you know where the saliva of that Florida bat is on the dog. If you touch your exposed pet do so with gloves and only when you absolutely have to. Consult Florida bat control as to the proper course to take. The likelihood becoming rabid from bat saliva on your pet is very low. Rabies is a disease that must be treated with overly cautious actions.
