Find where the squirrels are getting into the attic. Squirrels can pass through any opening in the attic the size of their skull. They simply squeeze their body in to follow. Be certain that the squirrels have left the attic for the day prior to boarding up any holes or perform the trapping concurrently through the trapper techniques described above. Inspect around the attic and the outside of the house, checking roof corners, eave line edges, gable joiners, and under the eaves. When a hole is located it should not be sealed with wood as the rodents will chew through it. Window screen is useless for repairs as the squirrels will gnaw right through it.

Remove any signs of squirrel activity in the house attic. Look up in the attic for squirrel poop, soiled insulation, or nut cache supplies. Wearing a safety mask or respirator and gloves, vacuum out any squirrel feces into a garbage. Spray a solution water and bleach to kill bacteria around areas of squirrel activity. Replace attic insulation as necessary depending on its condition.
