How To Solve Problems With Squirrels

FL squirrels in attic pic How To Remove Squirrels From Attic     Squirrels entering the attic is probably the most common nuisance wildlife problem nationwide.  The problem isn't recognized usually until the mother squirrel's litter begins running around and also making noise in the attic.  Squirrels, like rats and other rodents, constantly have to gnaw to sharpen their teeth. The potential for damage to electrical wires, air ducts, and plumbing is great and can be devastating to a house.  Follow this page to learn the best methods to trap and remove squirrels from the house attic.
squirrel trapper pic How To Trap For Squirrels     Trapping squirrel is either done using food baited traps or by setting one way traps at the entry point to force the squirrels to walk in as they leave to go outside  The best results come when the home is sealed except for one or two entry / exit points where traps are set to only remove the problem squirrels.

tile roof rodent control Tile roof rodent control    Tile roof rodent jobs can be especially challenging.  Most tile roof jobs in Florida are resolved in the exact same manner as flat shingle roofs.  Some tile roof homes require a great deal of sealing around the tile's perimeter and valleys to stop critters from getting underneath the tiles.
animal down chimney Squirrel Down Chimney / Fireplace     Most chimney caps leave the outer flue unprotected for squirrels to fall down. When they go down this hole, they need fast help within 48 hours because they can't get out on their own.  There is no way to remove squirrels in the outer chimney flue from inside the fireplace.  If they are not reached in time, a dead squirrel will forever sit in the fireplace outer flue.

Pest Control Problems Caused by Squirrels In Fort Lauderdale:

The most common complaint that our wildlife removal company deals with regarding squirrels is that they have entered an attic or eave. They will often chew a hole in a building to gain access or use natural weak points in Florida construction. Mother squirrels deliver young twice a year, and they love to use an attic as a gigantic nest for their young. The young learn to live in the attic, and often choose to stay, but sometimes a baby squirrel falls down a wall.  Once in the attic, Fort Lauderdale squirrels chew, causing damage to wood, and worse, they chew on power lines, which can  create a fire hazard. They also bring nesting material and leave fecal waste into an attic. Frequently, our trappers have to remove dead squirrels in a wall or attic from time to time. Click the topics below to learn more and see why our company provides the best Fort Lauderdale squirrel control.

Another problem area where squirrels can cause damage are exposed wires or rubber hoses. Most common are those seen in gas grills, and stored  vehicles. Low voltage lighting can be a tempting target for squirrels to chew on. What the most squirrels are trying to do when they chew inedible substances, is clean and sharpen their teeth. They do this by biting through some material, (normally wood) then they pull their head back so the fibers slide between the teeth, and none of the material is ingested. This is squirrel version of dental floss. Most squirrels stick with small tree branches, but some have found the plastic coated wire or rubber hose  very pleasant to chew on

. The only way to stop this problem is for Fort Lauderdale squirrel removal to take away the problem squirrel. Once the squirrel is removed, the problem will stop. Once a squirrel has chewed its way into an attic or crawl space, again only careful squirrel removal through trapping and repairing the entry points will be successful. Repairs should be made immediately to close the entrance hole.  It is important to cut off the access route to the attic or crawl space, but to do so that will not seal the squirrel in to die in the attic. Quality squirrel control requires trimming tree branches that overhang the roof.  Fill cracks in foundation walls. Even a one inch hole or crack can make a suitable entrance hole for a Fort Lauderdale squirrel determined to get into the attic.
